The team has spent a total of 16 seasons in England’s top flight, the most recent being 2018–19. Their most recent title win was the 2012–13 season of the Football League Championship.

The club’s home ground is Cardiff City Stadium, located in Leckwith, south-west Cardiff. The stadium opened on 22 July 2009 with a friendly match against Celtic. The current capacity of 33,316 makes it Wales’ third largest football stadium after Millennium Stadium and Racecourse Ground.

The EFL Championship

The EFL Championship, formerly known as the Football League Championship, is the second tier of professional football in England. The league is contested by 24 clubs, with each team playing 46 games per season. Cardiff City Football Club is currently in their 23rd season in the Championship, having been promoted from League One in 2017.

Since the inception of the EFL Championship in 2004, Cardiff City have been one of the most consistent teams in the division. The club has never finished below 12th place and has only missed out on promotion to the Premier League on two occasions (2010 and 2016). In 2018, they finally achieved their goal of promotion back to England’s top flight after finishing 2nd in the Championship behind Wolverhampton Wanderers.

This season, Cardiff City are once again challenging for promotion to the Premier League. They are currently 4th in the table after 25 games, just four points off of leaders Leeds United. If they can keep up their good form for the rest of the season, then there’s no reason why they can’t achieve promotion once again.

He has also chipped in with some important goals, including a late equalizer against Aston Villa earlier this month. Morrison will be key to Cardiff’s chances of success this season;
