Eric Dickerson Los Angeles Rams 2022 Salute To Service Retired Player Limited Jersey Olive

The Los Angeles Rams have announced that they will be retiring the number 29 jersey in honor of Eric Dickerson. Dickerson is a former Rams running back who played for the team from 1983 to 1987. He was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and a four-time All-Pro. He is also the Rams’ all-time leading rusher with 7,245 yards. The Rams will retire Dickerson’s jersey during their “Salute to Service” game on November 19, 2022. The game will be against the Green Bay Packers, which is fitting because Dickerson’s best season came against the Packers in 1984. He rushed for 2,105 yards and 14 touchdowns that year.

Eric Dickerson’s career with the Los Angeles Rams

Eric Dickerson was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft. He played for the Rams for four seasons, from 1983 to 1986. During his time with the Rams, Dickerson was one of the most dominant running backs in the NFL. He was named First-team All-Pro three times and was a Pro Bowler four times. In 1984, he set the single-season rushing record with 2,105 yards. He also helped lead the Rams to a Super Bowl appearance in 1985. Dickerson’s career with the Rams came to an end when he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 1987.

The Salute to Service Jersey

The Salute to Service Jersey is a special edition Los Angeles Rams jersey that was created to honor and support the US military. The jersey is olive green in color and features the Rams logo on the front, as well as the words “Salute to Service” and “US Military” on the back. Dickerson wore this jersey during pre-season games in 2016, and it is now available for purchase by fans.

Dickerson’s career after the Rams

Since his playing days with the Rams, Dickerson has been inducted into both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame. He was also named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1983 and NFL MVP in 1984. In 1999, he was ranked #32 on The Sporting News’ list of the 100 Greatest Football Players.

Dickerson continued his work with the Rams long after his retirement from playing, serving as a special advisor to then-head coach Steve Spagnuolo in 2009. He also worked as an analyst on Fox Sports Radio and was a guest commentator on NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football broadcasts.
