What is Exeter City CU?
Exeter City Football Club is an English football club based in Exeter, Devon. The club is currently a member of the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football. They are one of the oldest and most successful clubs in England, having won the FA Cup twice and the League Cup once.
The club was founded in 1901 as St Sidwell’s United and played their home games at St James Park from 1904 until 2001 when they moved to their current stadium, Stadio Olimpico. The club has been owned by Italian businessman Andrea Della Valle since 2012.
The club’s nickname is “The Grecians”.
What is the EFL Championship?
The EFL Championship is the second-highest tier of professional football in England, behind the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs each season, with three clubs promoted to and three relegated from the Premier League. The Championship is currently sponsored by Sky Bet and is therefore officially known as the Sky Bet Championship.
Exeter City Club was founded in 1904 and they are currently playing in League Two which is the fourth tier of English football. They have never played in the top flight but did reach the Semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1981.
