-A Jelly Roll (36 inch by 48 inch) of coordinating fabrics
-An 18 inch by 24 inch piece of batting
-Harry Potter symbols fabric scraps (18 inches by 24 inches)
-Thread in desired colors
-Sewing machine and straight stitch tool
-Fabric glue or sewing machine needle threader
1. Begin by cutting your fabric into a 60 inch by 80 inch rectangle. Add a 1 inch border at both ends of the fabric.
2. Cut your jelly roll into six equal squares, each measuring 18 inches by 18 inches. Make sure each square has the same number of holes on all four sides – this will be used to attach the squares to the quilt top later on. Set aside.
3. Sew one end of each symbol square together so that they form a 6 foot long strip. You can optionally add a hem along the edge if desired. Repeat these steps with the remaining symbols squares, making sure to space them evenly across the quilt top.
