Troy Polamalu retired from the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018. The two-time All-Pro safety played his entire 16-year career with the Steelers, winning a Super Bowl ring in 2006. He was a key part of their defensive unit and was an instrumental leader on and off the field.

Polamalu announced his retirement following the Steelers’ loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. In total, he recorded 577 tackles, 10 interceptions, six sacks, four fumble recoveries, and one touchdown during his time with Pittsburgh.

Following his retirement, Polamalu became an analyst for NFL Network and Fox Sports 1. He also invested in a restaurant called “The Bureau” in Los Angeles.

Troy Polamalu was drafted by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 2002 NFL Draft and played his entire career with the team. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro selection and is second on the franchise’s all-time leaderboard in interceptions (24), third in total tackles (269), fourth in solo tackles (191) and fifth in sacks (22). In 2008, he was named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team and was awarded the franchise’s highest honor, the Silver Star, in 2017.

Polamalu is a three-time inductee into both the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and Allegheny County Sports Hall of Fame. He is also a member of both the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame and Museum as well as Italy’s Pro Football Hall of Fame.
