The Grinch is coming The Grinch is coming
By Don Fowler
Prepare for the Christmas-stealing visit.
How am I so sure?
I had a direct conversation with him last Friday right in the PPAC lobby.
Seated on his throne, he elaborated to me his disdain for Christmas.
“What’s there to like about it?” he questioned. “It’s so noisy. It’s all too overwhelming. Families come together, and the whole place gets loud. There’s too much merriment.”

“You’re a grumpy one, Mr. Grinch,” I couldn’t help but think to myself. But as our conversation continued, I found him rather delightful.
He mentioned his fondness for children and expressed hope that they’ll come to see him when he takes the stage in “How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical.” This Broadway holiday sensation will grace the Providence Performing Arts Center from November 28 to December 3.
He went on to comment about all the Christmas decorations he spotted on his way to the theater.

“And it’s not even Halloween yet! Take them all down!”
The musical is a brisk, 90-minute spectacle that’s perfect for the entire family, adapted from the beloved Dr. Seuss Pulitzer Prize-winning books.
He might be a bit of a grouch, that Mr. Grinch, but he successfully persuaded me to secure my tickets before they disappear.
Ticket prices range from $20 to $80 and can be purchased either at the box office or by calling 421-ARTS.
